Basanti Durga Puja is celebrated in Spring (Basant) which generally falls in March or April. It coincides with Chaitra Navratri. First Durga Puja was said to be performed by King Surath in Spring to regain his lost Kingdom.
Though it's not as popular as Sharodiya Durga Puja but its still observed in by Bengalis in many parts of India.
The rituals of Basanti Durga puja is same as that of Sharadiya Durga puja but there are some minor differences; like usage of Ghat (earthen pot) for Bodhon on the sixth day of Puja.
